Updates on the Spring Surge in Land Survey Requests

As the snow retreated, spring emerged, property owners got down to business, and land surveying requests in Wisconsin are flourishing. At Four Seasons Land Surveying, we’re at the forefront of this seasonal surge, and we’re here to provide you with the facts.

Booming Requests, Busy Days

Springtime brings a flurry of inquiries. Property owners seek clarity on boundaries, developers plan new projects, and real estate transactions demand precise measurements. Our experienced team handles the load efficiently.

The Hard Facts

  1. The value per acre in Wisconsin has gone up $354(6%) from 2022 to 2023 and it's predicted to continue on an upward trajectory.

  2. In 2020, the number of agricultural land sales in Wisconsin without buildings or improvements increased by 29 percent to 1,159 transactions.

  3. 2023, the average sales price per acre across the state saw an upward trend. However, the prices per acre varied significantly. A small portion, 13%, of the sales were priced below $2600 per acre. On the other hand, a considerable 40% of sales were priced higher than $6000 per acre. This leaves nearly half of the sales with prices ranging between $2600 and $6000 per acre.

  4. Governor Tony Evers signed into law 2023 Wisconsin Act 42, enacting significant improvements for Wisconsin’s Farmland Preservation (FP) Program.

  5. Wisconsin shows a balanced distribution, with 49.5% inbound and 50.5% outbound moves.

  6. Wisconsin gained about 12,000 new residents from 2021 to 2022
